Buypower just introduced what they’re billing as a small form factor (i.e portable gaming rig) PC that can go head-to-head with the most powerful stand alone gaming systems.
Although I don’t have the LAN Warriors weight and size, they’ve included a carrying bag which I guess attests to the rigs portability. Under the hood is an Intel Core i7, room for up to 24GB of RAM, 2 video cards, 4x 3.5-inch internal hard drives, Blu-ray or DVD burner, WiFi and 1000w power supply. The LAN Warrior starts at $999 and is available now.

It is quite interesting how Hammacher and Schlemmer invent some gadgets that seem so useless. This Timelapse Garden Video Camera is one of them. We are talking about a camera that keeps a close eye on plants and you get to notice the progress of their growth. Let me repeat that! You get to buy a camera that films as plants grow. Like WOW! The Timelapse Garden Video Camera comes with 6 possible preset intervals. These range from a merely 5 seconds to a maximum of 24 hours. You will only get footage that is of “interest” because this camera automatically shuts at dusk. Storage is offered through a card of 2 GB, which can store a maximum of 1,800 pictures. The gadget works with the help of AA batteries and costs $159.95. We are still wondering why anyone would pay this amount for such a camera.

There sure is a current crazy market when talking about usb flash drives. You get them in basically all shapes and colors. This interesting Turtle shaped USB hub basically proves this. The manufacturer decided that a USB hub is not enough to make it in this market and so you will also get a special, small, compartment that you can use. You basically have this usb hub and you lift the shell and it seems like an ashtray pops out. In most situations people will probably not use this tray for this purpose although there might be some that will. In order to open the shell you will have to push the turtle’s head. Connecctivity wise, the Turtle USB Hub comes with 4 free USB Slots and it just cots $13.99 so you might really want to consider it.

World of motorbikes and world of cars are two completely different parties that have to live together on the basics of common traffic regulations. While cars are safer and, well, easier to drive, motorcycles are so much more exiting, that we can’t discard them in the search for interesting gadgets. The appeal also hides in the fact that you can’t just jump on a bike and take off. Proper biker is well equipped. The helmets, the vests, the gloves, etc. all of it has to undergo tests and approving arrangements before they appear on the shelves. What we want then is a place where motorcycle equipment would be gathered together and sold for reasonable price. LeatherUp.com is what we came across recently.
LeatherUp.com is an online store that has been successfully dealing leather and motorcycle gear for years now. That means their business relationships with manufacturers allow them to sell everything from boots to helmets at significantly lower price than found in retail stores. The good thing about LeatherUp.com is also that they are not dedicated to one particular style.
If you have a chopper or a classic Fat Boy, an open face helmet is suitable. Prices start at 29.95 USD for Outlaw helmets and end up at 346.49 for a Shoei. Other brands like HJC or Hawk also available. Mind you by the way that all Motorcycle Helmets are DOT approved and are presented in a wide range of sizes and paint jobs. As for open face helmets, there are also stylish WWII German Helmets.
Choice of full face helmets is as wide. Entry point here is 39.95 for a Bell Zephyr. Prices go all the way through helmets for youngsters and motocross helmets to carbon fiber beauty from HJC. FS-15 Carbon will set you back 413.99 dollars but is made with same thorough as professional motorsport units.
Story with Leather Vests is a bit different however. There is much less room for innovation and technology, but anyway there is. Here is where: Tourmaster managed to create a vest with infrared heatfor only 125.99 USD. Synergy as they have called it can be safely plugged in a standard 12-volt system. Staying worm under drizzle is as good as staying maneuverable. Synergy has a very thin heating layer so it is very flexible and won’t disturb from driving.
Google Checkout gives LeatherUp.com 4.7 stars out of 5 for their services which speaks for itself.

This Tetris furniture appears to be ideal choice for your household. The project is inspired by well-known Tetris game which is pretty amazing with every piece of Tetris furniture being designed to make your house more colorful and comfortable. Brazilian designer Diego Silverio in tandem with Helder Filipov developed the concept which is most likely to catch on. Every piece of furniture represents a piece of its original game Tetris and has its own function.
The Tetris furniture is just a concept now, but thanks to Tetris popularity, we will possibly behold this furniture in reality. Your room has never been so much decorated as it could have been with this wonderful piece of furniture. There are colorful and roomy cabinets as well as shelves. Hopefully, one day we will be able to customize our furniture according to our imagination. The contemporary design is very attractive and many people would enjoy having it in their place.
Hungarian designer David Raffal has the clear idea about how new generation cars should look like. With his new concept, called “BMW snug”, this futuristic looking car is most likely going to be on the roads once in the future. The project was developed in tandem with the BMW group. What is special in its design is that David Raffal strives to achieve a sense of community.
According to its designer, the car is designed for different people with different views and ideas, those who value private relations. Being just a concept, BMW snug is reported to be highly assessed by BMW, but still nothing is clear about its future. BMW snug is a 4 seater vehicle which is able to be used as a sitting room. Its design appears to be sophisticated with paper waves for covering a central cell.

The power of the sun is an excellent source of energy and summer is a perfect period when people can use gadgets based on the sun-power. Keeping with the trends and necessities of the modern world, Sharp in collaboration with Japanese cell phone company AU KDDI announced the release of its new waterproof phone that can be charged using sun-power. This idea is by no means new: LG has already announced creation of solar-powered phones. Samsung comes with its Blue Earth solar-powered touch phone. Moreover, Intivation Company has already released the ZTE Coral-200 and Commtiva Sola solar-powered phones.
It is little known of the new phone: the only information is connected with its capability to use the power of the sun. The phone, which is yet unnamed, offers one minute of talk time or two hours of standby time after being under the sun for 10 minutes. So, if you are on the beech, you may sleep for an hour or two and then you will be able to talk for 10 minutes. The phone receives up to 80% of its charge from solar power. The solar panel is placed on the top of the handset. However, it is not very convenient, for you will have to wait for a long time in order to talk a little. Thus, this is another attempt to produce environmentally friendly gadgets. Additionally, it is waterproof.
However, some of the phones mentioned above, have advantages concerning talk-time: LG phone offers three minutes of talking after 10-minute sunlight charging. But while Sharp announced the release date of the phone – June, 2009 – there is no information from LG Company concerning the date. Thus, Sharp phone may be considered as the first waterproof solar-powered handset.

We have all got different sleeping habits and if my girlfriend isn’t the most aware of mine than I don’t know who is. With that said, I don’t wanna be woken up at 8am when she arises for work, but yes, I inevitably do thanks to her ear blistering cell phone alarm. The Vibrating Alarm isn’t exactly the hottest piece of gear to hit the bedroom scene, but it surely will be a welcome one for night owl junkies like me. Just place the wire free vibrating pad under the pillow, set the alarm and your partner is awakened by a soft rattle to the dome. And, since its wireless, with a 100 foot range, it can double as a silent timer that slips into your pocket, but that seems pretty useless given the advent of the iPhone and many other vibrating handsets with a timer function.

Click…click…click…yep, you’ve heard it before, the sound of a dead USB hard drive crashing its depressed head into the platter. And who can blame it after a monotonous life writing data back and forth, back and forth, back…and…forth, 24/7, catering to your every whim and desire. Well, enter the Addonics NAS Adapter, the digital Prozac that dramatically injects new life into your storage device by transforming it into a honest to goodness Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. Too good to be true? Let’s take a look in detail.
- Converts any USB 2.0 / 1.1 mass storage device into a Network Attached Storage device
- USB port can be used to power most 2.5″ USB hard drives or any low powered USB storage device
- Supports Fast Ethernet 10/100Mbps
- Simple to install
- Small and light weight. Size slightly longer than a C size battery. Can be installed practically anywhere
- Can be set as DHCP server or client
- Supports Samba server for up to 64 concurrent clients
- Built-in FTP server for up to 8 concurrent users
- Built-in print server to attach any USB printer to the network
- Built-in Bit Torrent client for direct download to the attached USB storage device
- Can be set as a UPnP AV server to share photo/music files stored on the file server with XBOX 360 video game consoles connected to the LAN
- User management to allow read only or read/write access to folders
- Administrative management access via web browser with password security
- Compatible with all Windows OS, Mac OS, Linux 2.6.x and above
The Addonics NAS Adapter is a surprisingly small device measuring just under 3 inches long, yet, packing in an extensive feature set that includes a built-in DHCP server, Samba server, FTP server, print server, Bit Torrent client, and UPnP AV server, all on top of the NAS functionality. Not too shabby if you ask me.
Set-up is a breeze. Simply plug into a power source using the included power cable, plug into your router using an ethernet cable, and connect a USB storage unit into the USB port. Once that’s done find the IP address by using the provided java application on CD or look at the ‘connected devices’ section on your router config page. After logging into the Addonics setup page, click to the setup section to detect and format your USB storage device. This will completely wipe out your hard drive by formatting it into one large FAT32 partition (NTFS not supported). Some of you may be thinking, “But what about my high-def movies files that are bigger than the stupid 4GB FAT32 size limit?” To which I’m tempted to say, “You’re screwed, bub! mwahahaha” or I can more correctly say, “The Addonics adapter can read them as long as they’re copied to the storage device through the network. However, the 4GB+ files will not be recognized if you access the drive directly via USB to PC.”
